This lighter weight stabiliser is designed for use on caravans with a maximum weight of 1360 Kg, which covers most single axle caravans currently on the market. Based on a friction-type operation, two disc shaped friction pads grip tightly onto a DRY, GREASE-FREE towball, when the stabiliser lever is applied. This mechanism dampens any snaking movements that may be caused by sudden braking or cross winds. The friction pads are easy to change and should last for approx. 50,000 Km/32,000 miles of normal towing. The AKS 1300 can be used on continental swan-neck type detachable or fixed towballs. If used with a standard bolt-on type towball, you must use the special towball provided with the stabiliser kit. This towball has a standard diameter of 50 mm, but the length of the towball neck is longer than standard, this allows the stabiliser to articulate to the required 25 degrees, ensuring correct operation. The towball is fully approved under EC 94/20 towbar/towball regulations. The stabiliser is easy to fit to any AL-KO or non AL-KO overrun device by simply removing the existing coupling head and replacing with the combined stabiliser/coupling unit. Not suitable for use on 360 degree rotating shafts. Anti-theft device optional.

Note that the stabiliser kit does not come with rubber gaiter as it is designed to use existing hitch gaiter.
